Gridiron Showdown: Sandpoint Bulldogs vs. Lethbridge Rams

The stage is set for an electrifying showdown as the Sandpoint Bulldogs prepare to square off against the Lethbridge Collegiate Institute Rams in their final regular-season game of 2023. After a stellar season, which culminated in a triumphant 35-7 victory and the claim to the Inland Empire League (IEL) championship, the Bulldogs are ready to cap it all off with a thrilling clash. On October 20, 2023, at 7 PM PST, the Bulldogs will take the field at War Memorial Field in Sandpoint, Idaho, against the Rams from Lethbridge, Alberta. This game, however, is no ordinary contest; it's Senior Night, a heartfelt tribute to the Bulldog seniors on their last high school regular season game.

As the sun sets on a memorable season, the Lethbridge Rams enter the fray with a 3-6 record, armed with the confidence of a dominating 56-8 victory over Holy Trinity Catholic School in their last outing. Yet, they've also encountered some formidable competition, as evidenced by their 6-54 loss to Raymond High School on September 22, 2023.

In contrast, the Bulldogs faced Raymond High School earlier in the season, securing a hard-fought 27-20 victory on September 8, 2023. This win was the catalyst for a four-game win streak that propelled the Bulldogs into the limelight. With a 5-3 record and a newfound sense of momentum, they are eager to showcase their mettle against the Rams.

The Bulldogs' performance this year has been a testament to their offensive and defensive prowess. Their offense has been an unstoppable force, amassing a staggering 2751 total yards, with 1144 yards through the air and 1607 on the ground. On average, they produce 143 passing yards per game, 200.88 rushing yards per game, and an impressive 5.22 yards per rush.

At the helm of the Bulldogs' offensive juggernaut is Quarterback #11 Drew Lehman. Lehman has been a maestro, passing for 1000 yards with a remarkable 70.75% completion rate. He's thrown 10 touchdowns and, while not without a few interceptions, his poise and precision are pivotal to the Bulldogs' success.

In the backfield, Running back #18 Kody Brewster has been a relentless force, accumulating 773 rushing yards on 114 carries and notching 6 touchdowns, all with just one fumble. Brewster's reliability has been vital to the Bulldogs' offensive strategy.

Wide Receiver #5 Max Frank has been a go-to target, reeling in 562 yards on 37 catches and finding the end zone five times, despite one fumble. Frank's ability to make clutch catches and stretch the field has played a pivotal role in the Bulldogs' offensive success.

On the defensive side, Safety #10 Van Lee has been a tackling machine, amassing 54 total tackles and contributing with 1 sack and a crucial force fumble. Linebacker #22 Willie Wimmer follows closely behind with 52 total tackles, 1 force fumble, and a fumble recovery.
