Momentum Carryover: Sandpoint’s Big Opening Win

The Bulldogs opened their 2025 season with grit and resilience, edging Twin Falls 28–27 in overtime. Quarterback Braden Buckhout threw for 212 yards and added a rushing score, while Jensen Sheetz powered the ground game with 90 yards and 3 touchdowns. Defensively, Roman Turnbull sealed the win with a clutch stop on a two-point conversion attempt.

Teton’s Week 1 Statement

The Timberwolves come into the matchup with momentum of their own after a convincing 33–12 victory in their opener. Teton showcased a balanced offense that produced over 400 yards, leaning on quarterback play and an aggressive rushing attack.

Defensive Spotlight: Bulldogs Secondary vs. Timberwolves Air Attack

One of the keys to this game will be how Sandpoint’s secondary, led by senior safety Lucas Garrison, handles Teton’s passing game. Garrison was everywhere against Twin Falls, finishing with 7 solo tackles, 3 assists, 2 tackles for loss, and 2 pass breakups. Alongside playmakers like Trey Blumenberg, who had a critical interception last week, and Jeremiah Palmer, who added pressure up front with a sack and TFL, the Bulldogs have the pieces to disrupt Teton’s aerial rhythm.

If Sandpoint’s defensive backs can tighten coverage and force mistakes, it could tilt momentum their way and neutralize one of Teton’s biggest strengths.
